Summer Sleep is a lo-fi, cinematic ambient artist and songwriter from Austin, Texas—a reluctant tech-nerd turned ambient scientist, whose collaborators include temperamental machines, pure chance, and the occasional miracle crash-landing. Using visuals and ethereal soundscapes, Summer Sleep captures the human experience in its raw beauty, exploring themes of landscapes, life cycles, death, and rebirth.
Each live show is an unrepeatable fusion of sound and imagery, blending analog and digital equipment into something wholly unique.
Over the years, Summer Sleep has shared stages with legends like Shakey Graves, Priscilla Ahn, James McMurtry, Weezer, Bayonne, Bright Light Social Hour, and more. His work has been embraced by artists such as Nina Diaz (Girl in a Coma) and includes collaborations with Kellii Scott (of the band, Failure). Most recently, N8NOFACE released a haunting ambient remix of his track "Churro."
For fans of Stars of the Lid, Brian Eno, William Basinski, and Boards of Canada, Summer Sleep’s music offers a soundtrack for those seeking connection, reflection, and transcendence.

Pete has been in various bands opening for: Shakey Graves, Wild Child, Quiet Company, Sons of Fathers (Paul Cauthen and David Beck), Bayonne, Bright Light Social Hour, Terri Hendrix, Mobley, Warren Hood, The Deer, Phox, Pete Yorn, Hank Williams III, Zeale, Carolyn Wonderland, and countless more.
